Clover’s Story …

A lot of honey goes into the making of the sweet treats so richly enjoyed by My Doll Friends.  The curator of much of this honey is none other than Clover.   Following the pollen laden bees from the fields of colorful flowers, Clover crosses paths with many of the other dolls.  She waves a cheery “hello” as they go about their own tasks of gathering flowers and picking apples in the orchards.
One might think Clover would be encumbered by a big white jumpsuit and a beekeeper’s hat with netting, but the bees are so accustomed to her that they don’t give Clover a second thought.  As the bees busy themselves foraging among fields of flowers and apple blossoms, Clover enjoys the warmth of the sun on her face and hair.
During parts of the year, the hives are heavy with honey.  Waxy bits of honeycomb can be gently removed to make room for more!  Clover loves these Summer days of collecting honey and goes about her work, talking to the bees all the while.  Her friends sometimes stay nearby and are treated to a jar or two of the sweet syrup for their afternoon tea or the making of sugar cookies.  Sharing is caring, says Clover and she is always happy to share. She is always careful to leave an ample supply of honey undisturbed for the bee to eat in the wintertime as they cluster tightly together inside the hive and vibrate their wings to stay warm.
